Garlic Soup with Cheese and Croutons – „Česnečka”
The garlic soup called “Česnečka“ is very simple and easy to make. It is a typical soup served in Czech households. People like eating it after a long night to cure their hangover.
- 1-2 garlic bulbs (10 cloves)
- 1 small onion
- 1 bouillon cube
- 3 potatoes
- Salt and pepper
Peel onion, garlic and potatoes. Chop onion and stir-fry in oil. Add chopped garlic. Fry shortly then pour hot water. Cut potatoes and cover with water and add the bouillon cube. Season with salt, pepper and caraway. Cook until potatoes are soft. Season them with marjoram. If the soup is not strong enough, add minced garlic. Serve in a bowl with grated cheese and croutons made of bread.
